These game mechanics take a while to get used to, but once you've got them down, Tribes: Ascend becomes entirely entertaining. However, what makes Tribes: Ascend so good (aside from the fact that it's free) is that it uses a mechanics of skiing and jetpacking, in which you'll be flying down hills at high speeds and leaping into the air while shooting your foes. There are the various typical modes of gameplay such as Capture the Flag, small skirmishes (five-on-five), and the whopping 32-player deathmatch. Tribes: Ascend is a free-to-play Team Fortress-styled FPS. Tribes: Ascend does everything to bring those types of players looking for something new into its arms, and it does so with flying colors. For a select number of players who aren't wrapped up in the modern first-person shooter era of games, Tribes has been a go-to series. There is a world of FPS games that aren't run-of-the-mill.
